How U-Pick Works at Wunsch Farms
At Wunsch Farms, the U-pick experience is designed to be simple, welcoming and rooted in the natural rhythm of the orchard. When you arrive, you’ll check in with staff to see what fruits are currently in season, whether that’s strawberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, plums or apples. You’ll be directed to the appropriate picking areas and given guidance on what’s ready and how to select the best fruit. Alternatively, you can view our ripening calendar to plan your visit.
Guests can pick at their own pace, moving through the rows and choosing fruit right at peak ripeness. Depending on the crop, you may be picking from low-growing plants, orchard rows or full trees, each offering a slightly different experience as the season progresses. Containers are provided, and your fruit is weighed at the end of your visit so you only pay for what you pick.
Because Wunsch Farms grows a wide variety of fruit across the summer and into fall, availability shifts throughout the season. Some sections of the orchard may be open one week and closed the next as fruit ripens and is harvested. For the best experience, it’s always a good idea to check ahead for current picking conditions and arrive earlier in the day for the freshest selection.
